
Driver, blinded by sunlight, crashes in Lexington – LCSD vehicle involved
A collision on Columbia Avenue (US-378) at Reed Avenue in Lexington Tuesday after 7 a.m. had inbound lanes blocked. All lanes were reopened around 8 a.m. but West Butler Street was still closed due to debris in the street.
The wreck was caused by a driver who disregarded the red light due to sun in her eyes, according to Lexington police.
South Carolina Highway Patrol was on the scene and investigating due to a LCSD vehicle being involved but not at fault on the collision. LPD photos
