Ribbon cut at Ikie Lu Record Club, 601 N Lucas St., West Columbia – A Restaurant, Wine and Cocktail Bar, that plays vintage records
The ribbon was cut at the Ikie Lu Record Club, 601 N Lucas St., West Columbia, Wednesday. The ribbon-cutting, and an After Hours gathering, was sponsored by the Cayce-West Columbia Chamber of Commerce. Ikie Lu Record Club is a Jazz Kissa, Restaurant, Wine and Cocktail Bar, that plays vintage records. Matt Catchpole is the owner. He spent about a year renovating the building, that is just off of Sunset Boulevard.
It’s named after Matt’s grandmother, whose nickname was “Ikie Lu.”
Former Sen Nikki Setzler was on hand to welcome the new business, so was West Columbia City Councilwoman Sarah Mattern, and Cayce City Council Members Tiffany Aull and Phil Carter.
“There’s nowhere else I’d rather be,” Setzler said.
Chamber President and CEO Tim Miles declared Wednesday, via Resolution, as Ikie Lu Record Club Day.
Chamber Board Chairman JB Beckett said the Ikie Lu Record Club is an addition that makes the neighborhood shine.
Matt was quoted in fig Columbia magazine as saying: “I believe that if you want things to be a little bit better, make them a little bit better, right?”
