Fan anticipation grows for West Columbia’s Meeting Street Music Fest, less than a month away – See the lineup of bands

In a short period of time, the Meeting Street Music Fest has become one of the most anticipated events in West Columbia. The 3rd Annual Meeting Street Music Fest is April 17-18, and is presented by the City of West Columbia.

It’s a two-day event featuring eleven sensational bands playing a variety of music genres. Crowds for the event come close to 10,000 people.
The Meeting Street Music Fest is the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in live music, enjoy delicious food and beverages, and enjoy endless fun. Sugar Ray is the headliner, and there will be  bluegrass, jazz, pop, rock, and country music featured at different stages all day long.

Vickki Mullady and her husband, Joe, live in Red Bank. She said the couple is planning to come to this year’s music fest.

“I’ve been to both of the music fests that were in West Columbia,” she said. “And I can’t wait for this year’s concerts. Joe and I make a day of it. We get here early and float from one stage to another. I moved here from New York and two years ago there was a Billy Joel Tribute show at the Meeting Street Music Fest. We loved it. I liked the Michael Jackson performer, too. That was really good. And there’s some music I’m not familiar with, but I just love the mood.”

The Mulladys came back for the second Meeting Street Music Fest, too.

“At our age, we are very familiar with the rock group ‘War,’ who played the last time,” Vikki said. “We had a blast sitting out here in our chairs, listening to them. It was great.  We expect it to be just as good this year with Sugar Ray.”

It’s not just the adults who love the Meeting Street Music Fest, college students love it too.

“One of my roommates told me about the music fest,” said Lily Ferguson, who was a senior at USC at the time of the second Meeting Street Music Fest. “I had no idea how much fun it would be, but I saw my friends there, and I love live music. It was a wonderful day. I’m very much looking forward to this year’s music fest.”  Lily said her parents, who live in Hartsville, are Sugar Ray fans and they are coming to the Meeting Street Music Fest this year after she told them about it.
