On March 8, 2026 Investigators arrested nineteen-year-old Jaeden Jones and eighteen-year-old Ty’ron Bethea on charges related to an alleged shooting that took place in the Walmart parking lot on Augusta Road, in West Columbia.

Mr. Jones was charged with attempted murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, criminal conspiracy, and possession of marijuana. Mr. Bethea was charged with possession of marijuana. The investigation into this shooting is ongoing.

Initial report: WCPD Officers have responded to the 2400 block of Augusta Road after a reported shooting. We ask that community members stay clear of the area as officers continue their investigation.
