SC Transport Police say defective equipment causes cement load to become detached in Lexington
A tanker trailer containing cement came detached from a semi-truck in Lexington Monday morning. Multiple lanes were closed at West Main Street (US-1) at Columbia Avenue (US-378.)
Lexington Police officers were on the scene directing traffic.
All lanes reopened after the semi trailer was removed from the road by a heavy-duty tow service.
The South Carolina Department of Public Safety State Transport Police responded and assisted the LPD officers. The State Transport Police issued several citations related to defective equipment that caused this incident to occur.
