Lexington County Coroner identifies man, 65, who died in Calks Ferry Road crash

Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the person who died in a two-vehicle
accident in the 1900 block of Calks Ferry Road in the Lexington area of Lexington County on Friday at approximately 5:20 p.m.

According to Fisher, Mr. Michael James Turner , 65, of Gilbert was traveling westbound on Calks Ferry Road when he crossed left of center, struck a vehicle that was traveling eastbound on Calks Ferry Road, and then struck a tree. Mr. Turner, who was wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle was not injured. 

The Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol continue to investigate
the incident.
