The Lexington Police Department Patrol Division was out on the streets New Year’s Eve, along with the Traffic Safety Unit and K-9 officers. Lexington Police reported making more than 50 traffic stops overnight in the Town of Lexington.

Officers made two arrests for DUI, multiple drug arrests to include Possession With Intent to Distribute marijuana. And possession of methamphetamine, minor in possession of liquor, open container, drug paraphernalia, driver’s license violations, and other citations and warnings.

Proactive traffic enforcement goes a long way in keeping our community safe. It is part of our ongoing strategic plan to lower crime and increase traffic safety throughout the Town of Lexington.
