Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the person who died in a single-
vehicle accident in the 4800 block of Fairview Road in the Leesville area of Lexington County on
Saturday, 2025, at approximately 11:24 p.m.

According to Coroner Fisher, Mr. Kai Lin Earl Maroney, 44, of Leesville was traveling eastbound on
Fairview Road when he traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck a tree.  Mr. Maroney, who
was wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Lexington County Coroner’s Office and South Carolina Highway Patrol continue to investigate the
incident.
