A collision on Mineral Springs Road, around 11 a.m., Friday, near Sunset Blvd (US-378) resulted in all lanes of Mineral Springs Road being closed. This crash occurred outside of the jurisdiction of the Town of Lexington, SC. Lexington Police officers assisted with traffic control while the South Carolina Highway Patrol investigated the wreck.

As the investigation of the first collision was wrapping up, a second wreck happened on Mineral Springs Road near Old Carrington Parkway. This single car collision was caused by a driver who experienced a medical emergency and the driver’s vehicle left the road and overturned near the woods.

Due to injuries the driver sustained in the second, single-vehicle wreck, Mineral Springs Road was closed to all traffic until at least 2 p.m. while a Traffic Safety Unit and the Criminal Investigations Division investigated this incident. Click to enlarge LPD photos.
