West Columbia District 1 City Councilman Mike Green was elected West Columbia Mayor Pro-Tem at the Dec 2 council meeting.

Green said: “Thank you to my fellow council members for electing me as Mayor Pro Tem. I’m grateful for your confidence and humbled by the support. I’m committed to working alongside each of you to keep West Columbia moving in the right direction.”

Green was elected to his first full term on West Columbia City Council in November of 2017. Before that, he served out the remainder of former Councilman Dale Harley’s term. Harley died in March 2017. The seat is in District One. He was last re-elected in November, 2025.
