Irmo Police Asking for Donations for Annual Shop with a Cop
The Irmo Police Department (IPD), in partnership with the Irmo Police Department Community Foundation are asking for local businesses and individuals to consider making a donation this holiday season to the 2025 Shop with a Cop. Shop with a Cop is an annual event, bringing Irmo law enforcement and local families together for an afternoon of connection, Christmas cheer, and meaningful support for families in need.
Shop with a Cop pairs families selected from the Irmo area with IPD officers for a supervised shopping trip at the Walmart in Irmo.
Each family is given a budget, made possible through community donations, to purchase food, toys, clothing, and essential items. Beyond the shopping, the event creates lasting memories and strengthens trust between young people and the officers who serve our Irmo community.
“Shop with a Cop is one of the most meaningful events of the year for our officers,” said Bobby Dale, Chief of Police for the Irmo Police Department. “It’s not just about gifts. It’s about giving kids a joyful experience and showing them that their community cares deeply about them.”
The families that have been selected for the 2025 Shop with a Cop will shop on December 11 and December 18 from 2-4 pm.
