Cayce Firefighter Dakota Forsythe completes grueling 24-Hour “Fit to Fight Fire” Crucible

Cayce Firefighter Dakota Forsythe has passed one of the toughest physical evaluations a firefighter can confront.

Forsythe completed the 24-Hour Fit to Fight Fire Crucible.

For 24 hours, Dakota exemplified grit and unshakable purpose. It takes heart and relentless effort to complete the rigorous physical and mental Fit to Fight Fire test. It takes resilience, discipline, teamwork a refusal to back down from the challenge, no matter how hard it gets. The City of Cayce is extremely proud of Dakota. He is an inspiration to the Cayce Fire Department.

The “24-Hour Fit to Fight Fire Crucible” is an intense, 24-hour endurance training test for firefighters. It’s designed to build mental and physical resilience. It demands the completion of 12 grueling in-gear workouts over the 24-hour period, pushing participants to physical exertion. Fit to Fight Fire also emphasizes brotherhood and completing hard tasks with humility. It’s totally achievement-based. There is no participation trophy.
