Cayce City Council approves Multi-Use Trail Project for Foreman to Frink Street, more sidewalks coming

The City of Cayce approved a financial participation agreement with SCDOT for the Foreman Street Multi-Use Trail Project. It was passed at the Nov. 13, Cayce City Council meeting. The trail would run from 2350 Foreman Street (Steel Hands Brewing) to Frink Street.

The 2,700-ft, or half-mile, concrete pedestrian and bike path, will be federally funded with more than $391,000 coming from SCDOT and $97,000-plus coming from the City of Cayce in an 80-20 match.

City Manager Mike Conley said the trail will improve safety and connectivity. He also said the trail project is one piece of many more coming. Cayce Mayor Elise Partin suggest the installation of signs to inform the public of the projects that are coming.

The Frink Street Sidewalk Project, by the SCDOT, is also in the works. It will extend a sidewalk from State Street to the Foreman Street area. After that there is also a plan, through Lexington County, for a sidewalk from Forman Street, down Frink Street, to James Street. Below: View from Frink Street – Click to enlarge.
