2 Story Studios opens in the Cayce River Arts District Sunday, with access to art and open pottery studios
The opening of 2 Story Studios took place in the Cayce River Arts District Sunday with Invigorate Cayce: A Live Jazz and Art Celebration. The new art studio is at 2018 State Street in Cayce. A ColaJazz! ensemble played in the parking lot of the new studio for the Grand Opening.
Levi Wright is the owner 2 Story Studios. He also owns State of the Art Gallery and Pottery Studio at 2007 State Street.
“I’m very pleased with the great turnout we had for the opening of the new studio,” Levi said. He said the downstairs of the renovated historic building, with original brick walls, is a ceramic studio. The upstairs is a studio for artists to work and sell their paintings. There will be 24-hour access to the studio. The art studios are available for rent and open pottery studio memberships available.

Cayce Mayor Elise Partin described the new addition of the studio as “phenomenal.” She said it brings the arts district to the “next level.” Partin also said she was pleased to see the flow of the crowd and new faces coming out to the 2 Story Studio grand opening. “The crowd came out to hear great jazz and the event has its own energy,” she said. “And there’s a synergy with the other businesses around.” Also on State Street are: Trini Lime (Caribbean Cafe); Feathered Nest, Piecewise (Coffee) and Babe Bar Salon & Spa.
Cayce City Council Members Byron Scott and Alice Rose came out for the grand opening. So did West Columbia City Councilwoman Sarah Mattern.
The jazz concert Sunday was made possible with the collaborative efforts of the Central Carolina Community Foundation, the City of Cayce and ColaJazz! It is the first of more to come, Partin said.
