Cayce Action Group, headed by Mercelis Odom, hosted a Turkey Giveaway, Saturday at Spires Gym on Dunbar Road in Cayce. It was CAG’s Third Annual Turkey Giveaway.

“We would like to extend our gratitude to everyone who assisted with the event,” Mercelis said. “We also appreciate everyone who shared the event to help those in need. We were able to give away over 100 Turkeys and food items. Special thanks to our city councilman Byron Thomas, who is always available to lend his support and guided us throughout the entire process. Thank you to our Cayce, West Columbia community for your support. We would also like to thank True BBQ and Calvary Holiness Church Cayce, SC for their assistance and support.”

Thomas said he was gratful for the chance to help.

“Our city is so fortunate to have nonprofits like the Cayce Action Group that work tirelessly to support families in our community,” Thomas said. “This is the second free Turkey Drive I’ve been a part of since being elected, and over 100 families received a free turkey. It’s such a joy to see the happiness on people’s faces. Knowing that the turkey they receive will help bring their families together on Thanksgiving is truly priceless.”
