A woman was rescued from the Congaree River near the Blossom Street Bridge, Friday afternoon. She transported to a local hospital.

The rescue was a combined effort between the Cayce Department of Public Safety, the City of Columbia Police and Fire Departments and the City of West Columbia Police and Fire Departments.
