
One person found dead in a West Columbia fire early Saturday morning
One person was found dead following a fire in West Columbia on Saturday morning, according to a report from WLTX-TV. (WCFD File Photo above)
The Lexington County Corner’s Office has not yet released the name of the victim. Right before 4 a.m., crews from the West Columbia Fire Department responded to a house on fire in the 1600 block of B Avenue. The fire was heavy and a person, who was deceased, was found inside.
The fire was brought under control in about 30 minutes. The department, Lexington County Fire Service, the state fire marshal and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division are investigating the fire.
