The entire intersection of North Lake Drive and Sunset Boulevard in Lexington was shut down, Sunday night. Lexington Police asked drivers to please take an alternate route if you were travelling through that portion of town. There were detours set up around the affected area Emergency personnel was on the scene.

The intersection was closed because of a vehicle pursuit initiated by the Richland County Sheriff’s Department that extended into the Town of Lexington. The vehicle of the suspect that was running collided into the back of an another vehicle and veered into a ditch. The suspect was taken into custody and there is no more danger to the community.
