Town of South Congaree Police Chief, Steve Jonas, was involved in a two-car vehicle collision in the City of Columbia, Wednesday. Chief Jonas and occupants in the other vehicle were transported for medical evaluation and care at a local hospital.

As a result of the collision and an investigation being conducted by the South Carolina Highway Patrol, it is the standard protocol of the Town of South Congaree to place the Chief Jones on administrative leave.
