Irmo Fire crews were on the scene of a residential structure fire, Monday afternoon, in the 1500 block of Woodstream Road. Quick work by IFD crews, with an assist from Columbia Fire Department, saved the house and kept the damage limited.

The residents were not home at the time of the fire but two dogs were. The dogs were found and safely removed from the structure. There were no injuries. The cause is currently under investigation.
