Cayce-West Columbia Breweries and Biergatins were featured in a segment entitled “Meet the People ‘Pouring’ into Our Community,” on 100.7 FM, The Point, Tuesday morning. Tim James, Chamber President and CEO, sat in on the radio show hosted by Kevin Cohen and Kasie Whitener.
Alyx Fredrickson with Cayce’s Steel Hands Brewing talked about the brewery’s “huge courtyard” and she promoted Nashville Nights and other free live music events at Steel Hands. Steel Hands, on Foreman Street, off of Frink Street, has been open for 7 years and also serves food on-site. Alyx recommended the Summer Shandy, and the Blueberry Lemonade.
Chad Owens with The Dales Biergarten and Bottle Shoppe on Platt Springs Road in Springdale said The Dales is glad to be a part of the Springdale Community. He said there is free live music at The Dales and Music Monday Bingo and Tuesday Trivia nights. Chad touted the beautiful wedding and event venue adjacent to The Dales and he said The Dales now has its own food truck. All of the roads around The Dales end in “dale” and that’s where the name came from. Chad recommended the Low Tide Pineapple Wheat among others.
Phillip Blair with WECO Bottle and Biergarten opened on Meeting Street in West Columbia 5 years ago. Phillip, who also owned The Whig in Columbia, grew up in the West Columbia-Cayce area. WECO Bottle and Biergarten gets beers from local breweries all over the state. They also have beer from all over the world, including Germany and Austria. Phillip said he likes to rotate the offerings. There are food trucks at WECO Bottle and Biergarten, too.
