Coroner identifies Lexington man who died after vehicle he was in leaves the road and hits several trees

Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the person who died in a single-
vehicle accident in the 600 block of Founders Road in the Lexington area of Lexington County, Wednesday.

According to Fisher, Mr. James Michael Carter, 46, of Lexington was the passenger in a vehicle
traveling eastbound on Founders Road when the vehicle left the right side of the road and hit
several trees. Mr. Carter was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle was transported
to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Lexington County Coroner’s Office, South Carolina Highway Patrol MAIT, and the South Carolina
Highway Patrol continue to investigate the incident.
