The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department, late Tuesday night, it was in the early stages of a death investigation along I-20 east between exits 51 and 55.

I-20 East was closed in that area. State troopers set up a detour. The interstate was later reopened.

It was closed after a man’s body was found on the interstate. Investigators are interviewing people to get an idea of what happened.

Crime scene investigators are collecting potential evidence and processing the immediate area around the body.
