Lexington 2 schools move to an eLearning day for Wednesday

With forecasts calling for potential winter weather and snow beginning Tuesday late afternoon/early evening and continuing overnight, Lexington Two schools will move to an eLearning day on Wednesday, January 22.

All afternoon and evening activities are canceled both today (January 21), as previously announced, and Wednesday, including athletic events, extracurricular activities, after-school programs, and adult education classes. Coaches will communicate any changes to scheduled sports events on Tuesday and Wednesday directly with athletes and/or families.

The National Weather Service is calling for the possibility of snow in the Midlands area. With forecast high temperatures not expected to make it out of the 30s on Wednesday, the possibility of lingering snow and/or ice will make for potentially hazardous road and travel conditions for cars and buses.

District officials will check on school facilities and bus route conditions Wednesday. We expect to communicate the school day schedule for Thursday, January 23, with families and staff on Wednesday afternoon through district communications channels, websites and social media, as well as traditional media.

We urge everyone to be weather aware this week and to stay safe amid these very cold temperatures.
