Bitter cold and possible snow in the Lexington County forecast for this week
An Arctic air blast blew into South Carolina Monday, with lows in the mid-20s Monday morning and a high temperature forecast to be around 40 degrees for the day.
Expect a low of 19 degrees Monday night and highs only reaching into the 30s Tuesday. The wind chill will make it feel much colder. There is a chance of light snow beginning Tuesday afternoon and continuing through Tuesday night. As of Monday morning, the chance for snow Tuesday afternoon is 30 percent. The chance for snow will increase to around 40 percent for Tuesday night. Snowfall could be trace amounts to one-inch according to the latest forecast (Monday morning.)
On Wednesday and Thursday expect bitter cold temperatures, with lows in the teens and highs in the 30s. If there is precipitation on Tuesday, it will refreeze and cause a driving hazard on Wednesday and Thursday morning.
