Lexington Two schools and offices will dismiss early on Friday, January 10,  due to forecasts of a potential wintry mix beginning that afternoon. Other districts in Lexington County have also changed the school day schedule

Friday’s early dismissal times, for Lexington Two, are 11:30 a.m. for elementary schools, 12:30 p.m. for middle and high schools.  

Due to the wintry weather expected Friday, school districts have decided to do the following:

• Lexington County School District One will have an early dismissal
• New Lexington County School District Three will have an e-learning day.
• Lexington School District Four will have early dismissal
• District 5 of Lexington and Richland Counties will have an early release.

In Lexington Two, all after-school activities/programs on Friday are canceled, including athletic events and practices, extracurricular activities, after-school programs, Boys and Girls Clubs, and adult education classes. Coaches and schools will reach out directly to families and athletes regarding the status of any previously scheduled Saturday, January 11 events. (Of note, the archery tournament previously scheduled for this weekend at Busbee Creative Arts Academy has been rescheduled for March 21-22).

The decision for a half-day schedule was made in an abundance of caution, with the safety of our students and employees top of mind, and in consultation with local, school and county officials. The district will continue to monitor weather conditions and will communicate through our district and school channels should any further updates be necessary.
