West Columbia Police made 29 DUI arrests in December, according to monthly data report
The West Columbia Police Department has released its “Monthly Statistical Review” for December.
The WCPD reported 10 break-ins, 3 burglaries, 29 DUIs (highest month for the year) and 6 vehicle thefts.
It shows that there were 3,153 calls for service for the month. That was the second-lowest number of calls for service for the year. In June, the lowest, there were 3,112 calls for service. In November there were 3,516 calls for service. The WCPD made 94 arrests in December. There were 122 vehicle collisions in December and 237 traffic citations issued.
Augusta Road at Dreher Road, with 4, was the intersection with the highest number of vehicle crashes for the month. There were 3 collisions at Augusta Road and Delree St.: 3 at Sunset Blvd. and Henbet Drive; and 3 at Susnset Blvd. and Leaphart Road.
There were 10 thefts from motor vehicles in December and in 3 of those force was used. There were 181 “suspicious person” calls made to the WCPD in the month: 157 alarm calls; 150 accident calls; 124 civil issue responses; and 78 larceny calls.
