Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the person who died in a two-vehicle accident in the 4400 block of St. Andrews Road in the Columbia area of Lexington County at approximately 8:45 p.m., Monday.

According to Fisher, Ms. Brittany Rosalinda Valencia, 16, of Columbia was the passenger in a vehicle traveling eastbound on St. Andrews Road when they collided with a vehicle traveling westbound on St. Andrews Road. Ms. Valencia, who was wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the other vehicle was also transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Lexington County Coroner’s Office and South Carolina Highway Patrol continue to investigate the incident.
