South Congaree Police arrest 3 on charges of enticing victims using Facebook Marketplace

The Town of South Congaree Police Department’s investigators concluded a (5) month investigation on Friday involving multiple defendants.

With the assistance of the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department, the following defendants were located & taken into custody without incident. The defendants were booked at the Lexington County Detention Center.

  • Jasmine Sierra Mosely, a (21) year old female,
  • Shayla Alisia Pough, a (26) year old female
  • Christopher Eugene Burgess Jr, an (18) year old male

The three were wanted in connection with a string of Larceny crimes, Armed Robbery with a deadly weapon, Possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a crime & Criminal Conspiracy.

The alleged crimes occurred over the last several months, according to the South Congaree Police Department.

Police said he defendants repeatedly conspired with one another and contacted multiple people on-line through the social media forum “Facebook Marketplace.”

Police said the defendants enticed and lured victims under the ruse of the promise of purchase to pre-selected areas to commit various larceny and breach of trust crimes, that lead up to the crime of armed robbery with a deadly weapon.

At present the Town of South Congaree Police Department’s investigators along with the assistance of the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department are actively following up on additional open criminal cases involving the defendants.

All persons arrested/charged are presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty in a court law.
