It begins at The North Pole (C-WC Chamber HQ on 12th Street) where there will be live music, entertainment and food.
This is Part 1 of a 2-Part chronicle of the businesses that will be included in the Parade Day Business Shuttle. Part 2 will include the businesses of Cayce
“While the Greater C-WC Parade of Lights has been a longstanding attraction for the community, Parade Day is a newer concept that envelops local businesses and organizations into a daylong event that promotes tourism, which ultimately enhances the economy,” said Chamber President and CEO Tim James. “In its third year, Parade Day has grown, with multiple shuttles continuously circling a 5-mile route through the business districts and stopping at 11 ‘hop on and hop off’ locations, where over 90 businesses will receive us and give everyone an opportunity to ‘Love Local.’”
In Triangle City, Creative Sewing Machine Center, is one of the shuttle stops.
“Sewing is a life-long lesson,” said Peggy Ledford, owner of the business. “More and more young people are getting interested. And sewing is a chance to explore your creativity.” You can win an embroidery and sewing machine at Creative Sewing Machine Center, too.
Coker Day of Pedego Electric Bikes on Meeting Street said an electric bike is an excellent Christmas gift and “prices have never been lower,” he said.
Always Original Bakery is a neighbor to Pedego Electric Bikes. Owner George Grogan said there are several special holiday sweets already on display, including the New sugar plum fairy dusted cookie for kids.
George said Always Original Bakery will have coffee hot chocolate on Parade Day. He offered high praise for the Cayce-West Columbia Chamber. “Everyone associated with the Chamber has been so good to us since we opened,” he said.
State Street Trading Company is another stop on the Holiday Business Shuttle. Lainie Lewis, owner, said she has special Merry “WECO” Christmas tree ornaments and a WECO rocks glass with “The West is the Best” scripted on it, in addition to local art pieces, women’s apparel, jewelry and “29169” pillows.
The Warehouse and Steven Whetstone Fine Art, at 324 State Street, are also anticipating Parade day and the Holiday Business Shuttle. Visit the real estate office of Tonya Mozenko that’s in the gallery.
“We’ll have a table set up for kids to draw and color,” said Steven Whetstone, the gallery owner. “We’re so happy to be a part of this community. We’re going to block off our parking lot and there will be lots of Parade Day festivities for everyone to enjoy.”
