Gray Collegiate Cheer Team wins third consecutive State Championship
The Gray Collegiate Academy War Eagle Varsity Cheerleaders won the 4A State Championship in competitive Cheer, Saturday. It is the team’s third consecutive state title. This year is Gray’s first 4A Championship win. Gray Collegiate Varsity Cheer, led by Coach Griffin Woods. The team has taken first place in every cheer competition they have competed this year. The teams of Coach Griffin Woods are undefeated in the past three years.
Gray, a West Columbia high school, finished first with a score of 285.5. AC Flora was second with a score of 277.5 and Hartsville was third with a score of 273, according the SC High School League. Gray finished first among 17 teams competing for the state crown on Saturday. The competition was held at the Colonial Life Arena in Columbia.
