Attached is a letter from Tim James, CWC Chamber CEO to the Candidates

Candidates,
As each of you are keenly aware, our community has endured severe weather, which has ultimately left many without power, flooding and now even more flooding expected. To this point, schools are now closing tomorrow, as they understand the great stressors that have been placed upon families, as well as first responders and others working through this event.

With this said, as important as this Forum is, we feel it would be contrary to our community belief and support to host this Forum in a time that many are facing extreme challenges. Case in point, at the time of this email, Dominion remains working to restore power to more than 2200 homes in Springdale, Cayce and West Columbia, and areas of our community are being requested to voluntarily evacuate). We have therefore made the decision to CANCEL the Forum.

With all this said, and knowing you all understand why we must cancel- please also know how much our Chamber Board appreciated the commitment that you all gave in preparing for this Forum, – and we are so grateful that you have given of yourself to offer yourself for election to one of the most important roles in our community.
