Several area Chamber of Commerce leaders gathered at the new Lexington Two Schools Performing Arts Center in Springdale, Tuesday. The SC Chamber presented its Grassroots Tour at the C-WC Chamber Business Breakfast. 

Will Frierson, Government Affairs officer for the SC Chamber, presented economic information to the several who attended. 

He displayed a graphic showing that South Carolina ranks 19th overall in an MSNBC list of America’s Top States for Business.
Another graphic showed that South Carolina was the fastest-growing state in 2023. South Carolina’s power grid will need new power sources to keep up with the population growth and economic development, according to a report Frierson presented. 

Area Chamber leaders at the breakfast were: Carl Blackstone of Columbia; Angelle LaBorde of Lexington; Kerry Powers of Irmo; Paul Sadler of Chapin; Tim James of Cayce West Columbia and Mike Brenan of the SC Chamber. Several elected officials were also at the breakfast.
