Cayce Re-introduces Cayce Code Compliance Team
CAYCE, SC – The City of Cayce is rolling out a brand-new look for their Cayce Code Compliance Department. Cayce Interim City Manager, Jim Crosland, stated, “We want the public to know that our Code Compliance team is here to help our citizens and businesses come into and stay in compliance. Cayce is open for business and our staff is here to serve as a resource.”
The team: Ken Walters, Jarrett Epperson and Britany Smoak, recently selected a new color under the City of Cayce brand – bright green, signifying “Go,” and meaning advancement and development. Citizens have a perception that a city code compliance staff is there to write tickets; when in reality the role of a Code Compliance Officer is to work with neighbors and residents and provide them with the information they need.
“It is much more than just a property’s appearance. It is the responsibility of all local governments to enforce safety and health precautions,” stated Ken Walters, Cayce Code Compliance Officer and Residential Building Inspector. “Don’t just be the person next door; be a part of a neighborhood, part of a community, and part of a city with a sense of pride.”
What Cayce Code Compliance Wants You to Know:
- You can find all ordinances on the city website: https://caycesc.gov/ordinances.php
- If you receive a green door hanger from Cayce Code Compliance, their cell and office phone numbers are at the bottom so you can reach them directly. They want to provide you and your neighbors with the tools and the resources you need.
- They developed the idea behind the Cayce Community Tool Shed to serve that exact purpose. The Tool Shed allows you to rent the tools you need to take care of any potential code violations.
