The Eagles Tribute concert by Tokyo Joe at the Lexington Two Performing Arts Center in Springdale, took place Saturday night. The new, and glamorous, facility was packed with a lively and appreciative crowd, for the first concert there. The band was obviously well-rehearsed and the vocals, most of the time, were 100 percent true to the original. There was an after-party at The Dales, across the street.
Greg Bickley, the founder of Tokyo Joe, put The Eagles Tribute band together. Greg sang the songs by The Eagles Don Henley (Life in the Fast Lane, Hotel California) and played drums, too. Brian Connor from BC Villanova sang The Eagles Glen Frey songs (Peaceful Easy Feeling, Lyin’ Eyes) and played guitar.
Todd Nagel from the Root Doctors sang The Eagles songs sung by Timothy B. Schmidt (I can’t Tell You Why, and played bass. Jack Easterling from Hijacked sang the songs sung by Joe Walsh (Life’s Been Good To Me, Rocky Mountain Way) and played guitar.
Kevin Smoak, who recently left the Human Resources Department of the Lexington 2 School District, plays keyboard and sings harmonies. Brad McLean, formerly with a group called Break the Silence, played guitar, too.
