Scheduled first day for Lexington 2 students is Wednesday, no decision made yet regarding postponing opening day
Lexington Two is monitoring Tropical Storm Debby, working closely with local and state weather and emergency preparedness officials on the severe weather’s timing and potential impacts to our area this week.
The district’s first day of the new school year is Wednesday, August 7. At this time, no decision has been made about the need to postpone it, though we are preparing for that scenario, should that become necessary. If the district does postpone the first day of school, an e-learning day will not be an option, and the district would therefore use its first scheduled weather makeup day of October 14, 2024, as an e-learning day.
Like all such storms, we expect the severe weather forecasts for our area to continue to evolve. We will continue to communicate updates as they are available.
