Thursday afternoon Irmo Fire crews and crews from Dutch Fork Fire Rescue and Columbia Fire Department (SC) provided assistance to Lexington County Fire crews fighting a residential structure fire on Old Lexington Hwy in the Chapin area.

There were no injuries and the fire was quickly brought under control. The road was blocked by fire equipment and hose for quite some time. Unfortunately the house suffered substantial damage.
