The Lexington Police Department reported a collision involving a Legacy Martial Arts bus and a LPD patrol vehicle at the intersection of Sunset Blvd. (US-378) at Palmetto Park Blvd., in Lexington, Thursday.

Traffic was detoured through the Hobby Lobby parking lot to Saluda Springs Road.

There were eight students on the bus who appeared to be uninjured. Parents met the students in a nearby parking lot. EMS was on scene with officers at the reunification site checking for injuries on each child. None of the children on the bus or bus driver were injured. All were reunified with guardians or returned to the after school program center.

The officer involved was transported from the scene by EMS and is being checked out at a local hospital.
