Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the individual who died in a vehicle vs. pedestrian accident in the 4000 block of Edmund Highway in the West Columbia area of Lexington
County, Wednesday at approximately 6:40 a.m.
According to Fisher, Mr. Marvin Orlando Felipe Perez, 34, of Halethorpe, Maryland was in the road when he was struck by a vehicle traveling eastbound on Edmund Highway. Mr. Felipe Perez was pronounced dead on the scene due to the injuries sustained in the collision. The driver remained on scene and was not injured.
The Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol continue to investigate
the incident.
