Lexington County deputies have arrested a 15-year-old girl in connection to a shooting in the West Columbia area of Lexington County Friday night.
The teen, whose name will not be released because she is under the age of 18, is charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and persons unlawful possession of a handgun, according to investigators.
“After watching surveillance footage at the scene, investigators determined this stemmed from a fight that started between two teens earlier in the night,” Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said. “Footage showed multiple people, including the suspect and the victim, got involved once the fight began.”
After the fight ended, the suspect ran at the victim and shot them twice, according to Koon.
