3 teens charged in Lexington County shooting, and armed robbery
Lexington County deputies have arrested three teenage males in connection with an armed robbery and shooting in the Swansea area of Lexington County Wednesday evening.
“After speaking with witnesses and victims, investigators determined one of the teens stole a gun out of a car at a gas station on Edmund Highway,” said Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon. “Later that night the teens were at a home off Redmond Mill Road and shot in the direction of three other people following an argument.”
All three teens are charged with three counts of assault and battery first degree and one count of pointing and presenting a firearm, according to investigators. One teen is also being charged with one count of armed robbery and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
The names of the suspects will not be released because they are under the age of 18, according to Koon.
“Following the shooting, the three teens ran away and were caught by deputies Thursday night,” said Koon.
The events of Wednesday night are still being investigated. Further charges may come in the future.
The suspects were arrested and transported to the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice.
