Police said a vehicle that fled from a hit-and-run incident on Sunset Boulevard collided with a telephone pole on North Church Street. It caused the pole to snap and power was out in the surrounding area. Multiple emergency personnel worked to clear the road and detour traffic.
The utilities department of the Town of Lexington and a crew from Dominion Energy worked on power lines. And early Thursday morning, Lexington Police announced that North Church Street is clear and open just in time for the morning commute. The pole has been repaired, electricity restored and a waterline fixed.
