Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the individual who died in a vehicle collision in the 5600 block of Wescott Road in the Columbia area of Lexington County at approximately 4:40 P.M., Monday.
According to Fisher, Mr. Kenneth Charles Shuman Jr., 45, of Columbia was collecting trash bins for an environmental waste management company when he was struck by a vehicle traveling westbound. Mr. Shuman was pronounced dead at the scene from his injuries. The driver of the other vehicle and two other occupants were transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Lexington County Coroner’s Office continue to investigate the incident.
