Lance Corporal Brittany Glover of the SC Highway Patrol is reporting the details of a fatal collision that occurred in Lexington County, on Westscott Road at Bush River Road, around 4:30 p.m., Monday.

Glover said that a 2014 Nissan SUV hit a pedestrian and a garbage truck on Westscott Road, one mile south of Irmo. Glover said the garbage truck was legally parked, picking up trash, on Westcott Road when the crash occurred. The pedestrian that was hit died on the scene.
The Lexington County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the name of the deceased.
