Lexington County Coroner, Margaret Fisher, has identified the person who died
as the result of a multi-vehicle vs. bicycle collision in the 5300 block of Highway
321 in the Gaston area of Lexington County at approximately 5 a.m., Thursday.
 
According to Fisher, Mr. Philip C. Allen, 29, of Gaston, was riding his
bicycle westbound attempting to cross Highway 321 when he was struck by two
(2) vehicles traveling northbound.  
Mr. Allen was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead
due to his injuries sustained in the accident.
 
The South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Lexington County Coroner’s Office
continue to investigate the incident.
