Taylor Watford Foundation holding Back-To-School Fentanyl Education Event on Aug. 13

Drugs are the No. 1 killer of Americans ages 13-to-50. And with the start of school in August, the stress level for teens can be overwhelming.

The Taylor Watford Foundation is concerned about the amount of drug use, suicide and mental health issues in our community. So the Taylor Watford Foundation is holding a Back-To-School Fentanyl Education Event to educate people about the dangers of substance abuse.

The event is on August 13, from 4-to-6 p.m. at Mt. Herman Lutheran Church, 3011 Leaphart Rd. in West Columbia.

You will learn about the dangers fentanyl and other drugs have on our community. There will be a parent/adult and a youth (12-and-over) session.

At this education session you will learn about the dangers of fentanyl and other emerging drugs’ How to have conversations about drugs; what to do if a friend is in crisis; and how-to-use emergency tools like Narcan and test strips.

Refreshments will be available afterward.
