Cayce-West Columbia Chamber Golf Tournament featuring, USC Basketball Coach Lamont Paris, draws a “Sold Out” crowd at Charwood Country Club
The Greater Cayce-West Columbia Chamber of Commerce hosted a “Sold Out” Spring Golf Tournament, Thursday at Charwood Country Club in Pine Ridge. USC Men’s Basketball Coach Lamont Paris was on hand to address the crowd.
Paris described himself as an avid golfer and a resident of West Columbia. He also said he studied business in college and has always wanted to be a small business owner. Speaking of the Gamecock basketball team, Paris said: “I like the group we have put together.”
Chamber leaders were thrilled with the sunshine, blue skies and atmosphere surrounding the event.
“I could not be more proud of the response we got from the Chamber’s members and from our sponsors,” said Lindsay Miles, the Chamber’s Board President. “The Cayce-West Columbia Golf Tournament is chance for business leaders to come together to raise money for many good causes and to keep our funds in our community.”
Chamber President and CEO Tim James thanked the Gold Sponsors, and all sponsors, of the tournament.
“Our sponsors really did a great job of selling this event,” he said. “Because of their effort it is a huge success. it is a lot of fun and wonderful fellowship among our members. It shows the strength of our business community and the support we have for each other.”
In addition to beverages for the golfers, Chamber Board Member Steve Cohen grilled hamburgers, hot dogs and chicken.”
“The chicken donated by (Gold Sponsor) House of Raeford, through Chuck Underhill, is always great,” he said. “I love cooking it because the chicken is always such a big hit. Everyone loves it.”
