Cayce’s Soiree on State draws its biggest crowd ever
The City of Cayce threw a street party and everybody came.
Soiree on State took place Saturday and Cayce’s State Street was packed. There were vendors lining the sidewalk and a Kid Zone where families frolicked. The much-beloved Dog West was in attendance.
It was a partnership between the City of Cayce and the Cayce Avenues Neighborhood Association that combined the Cayce Festival of the Arts with Soiree on State. The day included: artists, a free kid’s area with inflatable obstacle courses, face painting and a balloon artist, food vendors, and a variety of musicians on State Street, from Poplar Street to Railroad Street.
Bands included: Sam Edwards Jazz Trio; Mitchell Lee; Prettier and Matt, before Cayce’s own Greg Bickley and Tokyo Joe closed out the evening before a throng of excited fans.
In all, it was the best crowd over for the Soiree on State and planners can’t wait ’til next year for an even more successful event. The next Soiree on State is scheduled for March 24, 2024. (Photos courtesy of Greg Bickley, Dannette Bickley, Prettier Than Matt and Sheila Starkey)
