Officers with the West Columbia Police Department responded to Walmart located at 2401 Augusta Road Saturday at 2:16 p.m. in reference to a bomb threat, according to the WCPD.

Officers worked with Walmart’s staff to evacuate the store. The WCPD contacted SLED for help assessing the scene. Investigators are working to determine the validity of the threat and its source.

Walmart staff reopened the store to customers following a search by law enforcement which revealed no objects of concern. The investigation into the source of this threat is ongoing. (From WCPD)
