Law enforcement officers with the West Columbia Police Department made an arrest, Sunday, following an investigation from a July 3, 2022 murder.

Officers arrested 40-year-old Charles Edward Way of Lexington for the murder of Michael Crolley. West Columbia Police Officers responded to the 2600 block of Augusta Road in West Columbia during the afternoon of July 3, 2022 where the victim, Michael Lawrence Crolley of Lexington, was found deceased in the woodline. Mr. Crolley’s death was determined to be a homicide and an investigation was initiated. Mr. Way was transported to the Lexington County Detention Center following his arrest.
